    <description>&lt;P&gt;I am turning 65 on 12/20/23.&amp;nbsp; I recently signed up for Medicare and it will start on 12/1/23.&amp;nbsp; I have contributed $4400 as of 10-31-23.&amp;nbsp; I am married and I would like to contribute&amp;nbsp; the maximum to my HSA while I still can.&amp;nbsp; Can I contribute the maximum by 11-30-23 and use this as a tax deduction for this year?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'll page&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/2624"&gt;@dmertz&lt;/a&gt;, but I believe you need to stop contributions once you enroll.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;you have told us nothing about your spouse - his age?, covered by medicare?, has his own HSA?, covered by HDHP? type of HDHP you have self-only or family.?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;however, for self-only coverage, you can only contribute 11/12 of the max for 2023. the max is $4850&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;so 11/12 would be 4446.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You have until April 15, 2024 to make the contribution for 2023, but as others have said your contribution is not permitted to be more than 11/12 of the regular annual maximum.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
