Can I move money from my IRA to my HSA to take advantage of the tax breaks of using that money in my HSA and then use those funds to pay for COBRA and take that as a tax deduction.

Thanks

You can rollover the money from your IRA to HSA account, so long as you have a High Deductible Health Plan, meet the contribution limit, and meet the testing period. Here is a great article from a reliable source that goes bit into granule: https://www.journalofaccountancy.com/news/2022/nov/the-ins-and-outs-ira-hsa-rollovers.html#:~:text=Savers%20who%20are%20focused%20on,a%20qualified%20HSA%20funding%20distribution.

You can use the HSA money to pay for your COBRA premiums.

However, money paid through HSA, you can't claim it as deductible medical expenses, as those funds are already tax free.
