No. It is often easier to deal with the most recent event.

I am assuming you do not have a complicated situation with lots of carryovers.

It breaks my heart that a customer with a Form W-2 and a Robinhood account delays filing 2022 because they failed to file in 2021. Get 2022 filed before we pull down the 2022 TurboTax Online Software. That avoids having to buy a download of desktop later this year because of fretting over 2021.

File 2022 today and get a download of 2021 TurboTax desktop and set an appointment in your calendar for October 22, 2023 to complete the 2021 return.

Nine times out of ten when I help customers in this situation the customer gets refund in both years.
