we have no way of answering your questions. filing status like married can change from year to year and what you use in each year's returns depends on your marital status on 12/31 of each year. in addition, if you are not married or married but lived apart for the last 6 months of any year and had a qualifying dependent you might qualify to file as head of household.

TurboTax has no way --- ever --- to know if you owe child support. And your filing status can change from year to year, depending on whether you are married at the end of the tax year. If you were married at the end of 2022, then your filing status for 2022 must be either married filing jointly or married filing separately, unless you are eligible to file as Head of Household. If you lived apart from your spouse for at least the last six months of 2022 and were the custodial parent of the children you could file as HOH.

https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/what-is-my-filing-status

If you suspect that the IRS is going to seize your refund for unpaid child support:

The IRS only knows whether you are married or not by how you file your tax return (unless you are audited and they check up on you.)

If you think you might have a child support debt that was sent to the government for collection, you can call the Treasury Department Bureau of Fiscal Services and ask them if they have anything on file for you.
