Using Turbotax Deluxe

Hi,

I bought Turbo Tax Deluxe for 2022 but ended up not using it this year. I had my accountant do my taxes for 2022.

Am I able to use it for next year? For tax season 2023? Is my unused code / software transferable to 2023? Or can I get a refund for the unopened/unused software?

No you cannot use 2022 tax software to prepare a 2023 tax return. Each tax year has its own software that is written specifically for the tax year and that has the forms for that tax year. You do not mention when you purchased the CD/download. There is a sixty-day window in which you can request a refund for the software if you purchased it from TurboTax.

You can request a refund if within 60 days from when it was purchased.

I suggest that you submit a refund request even if it's been more than 60 days. I don't think they're strict about the 60 days. Use the link that taxlady28 posted.

If you bought the CD from an online or bricks-and-mortar retailer, not directly from TurboTax.com, and the box is unopened, see if the retailer will let you return it for a refund.
