Turbotax will not allow me to efile, only mail, but NYS requires efile if you use tax prep software.

If the tax preparation software you are using does support electronic filing of the New York state income tax return, it can be printed and mailed per NY rules.

System says I already printed. seems to be no going back. All I did was file the extension.

You can try to switch to efile. Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.

Thanks. I had to cancel the amended return I began earlier to get here but I think this is the solution. I was able to get to the e-file section and click through to the final step without filing.

I still need to input some K-1/K-3 partnership information when available in August (the whole reason for the extension), but this appears to get me where I need to be to E-File. Thank @VolvoGirl !! Very much appreciated.
