Received notice from the TurboTax Moderators that the update on Friday 07/14/2023 should have fixed this issue.

Check your Installed Updates - Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on View Installed Updates. In the update list check to see if the 07/14/2023 update was installed. If not installed then click on Check for Updates in the Online menu

If it was installed and you are still having the problem of not being able to e-file the Georgia state tax return due to the Failed Validation error then you need to send a diagnostic file to TurboTax for investigation.

Click on Online and then click on Send Tax File to Agent

When the Tax File is created and sent you will get a diagnostic file number.

Post the file number on this thread to the TurboTax Moderator @ErickaY

I do not see an update installed on 7/14/23. How do I install it? It keeps saying my software is up to date.

If the Program Update at the top of the list is for a date of 07/14/2023 or later then you have the update installed.

If you not then you can click on Online at the top of the program screen and then click on Check for Updates. If your program indicates you are up to date then save your tax return, close the TurboTax program and re-start your computer.

Start TurboTax again and view the installed updates. If still no update of 07/14/2023 or later then try a manual update.

Same error message: Tried to e-file today (02-15-2025) Error message says:

"FAILED_VALIDATION. There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before yo ucan file electronically, you'll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates."

I updated, and the message comes back with "Your software is up to date."

Retry to file. Same messages. Closed program, restarted. Same issue. Restarted computer, restarted program. Same issue.

Checked current updates and it shows:

Program Updates - (Released 2/12/2015) Program Updates

California (Released 1/22/2025) Automated Patch Pushing

Program Updates - (Released 2/5/2025) Program Updates

Sent file to agent. Tracker No. 196513966-32811585
