      <description>&lt;P&gt;For starters, it's to late to file an extension for your federal taxes as well as any state taxes. An extension must be filed on or before the original tax filing deadline. Even if you did file an extension before the April 18, 2023 deadline, that only extends your time to file; not your time to pay. Any taxes due the IRS were still due by April 18. So if your tax return shows yo owe taxes, you will also pay an "ESTIMATED" late penalty and interest, in addition to any late filing fees that may be assessed.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Federal taxes can be paid on line at &lt;A href="http://www.irs.gov/payments" target="_blank"&gt;www.irs.gov/payments&lt;/A&gt;. State taxes are a different story as it depends on the state. Not all states have the ability to pay on line.&lt;/P&gt;
