Thank you so much, Teresa M!

I DID itemize last year. But 5c in my 1040 Schedule A (2021) is blank. Shall I put a zero? If yes, shall I also remove the state refund amount from the place where I filled that info?

Much appreciated.

Hi,

I am almost ready to file my taxes but TurboTax keeps making me review one specific item. It keeps asking me to enter the value in 1040 Schedule A, line 5c from last year's taxes. But my last year's 1040 A line 5c is blank. So I have no way of fixing this. I itemized my deductions last year and doing the same this year too. Can someone tell me what to put in that box, should I enter "0"? But in one of the threads it was advised to put zero if one didn't itemize. So I am lost and stuck.

Please help!

Thank you.

This is what it should look like in that section of your return from last year. Please enter that number and if it is blank in your 2021 return, you may enter 0 in the field asking about Line 5c and that should clear the message in Review.
