Refund after efile failure

Both my federal and state efiles were rejected, yet Intuit charged my credit card for the taxes owed and the charge for efiling the state. How do i get these refunded as I am forced to mail my returns and pay by check.

If the tax return was rejected then no tax payment for federal taxes owed would have been paid since the IRS never received the tax return.

Using the TurboTax online editions there are no e-file fees, federal or state. The TurboTax account fees are for the use of the software to assist in completing a tax return. The account fees are the same whether the tax returns are e-filed or printed for mailing.

Why was the federal tax return rejected? What is the IRS rejection code on the email you received from TurboTax for the rejection?
