Loading a Corrected 1099 into Turbotax

I automatically uploaded a lengthy 1099 from my broker. I subsequently received a corrected 1099 with one small change to the cost basis on a stock sale. I manually went to the form and used an override to correct the impacted capital loss transaction.

When I run Smart Check, I am getting a warning not to override the electronically provided numbers.

Do I need to reload the complete 1099 again instead of correcting it manually?

Yes, editing numbers with an override on an imported 1099 will cause you to not be able to Efile.

Either delete the import and re-import, or delete the import and use the Summary Method to report your transactions.

The instructions provided did not work for me. I use Turbotax Premier. It was downloaded after I purchased it from Amazon.

I resolved the problem (I hope) by deleting the old 1099 and and importing the corrected 1099.
