I recently purchased this app to help with filing back taxes but it is asking for a 16 digit nmbr…at this point I am ready to cancel and get a refund..how do I get a refund regarding matter

The software for a 2021 return must be downloaded to a full PC or Mac, and part of what you must do is enter the 16 digit license code.

I prior year tax return can not be done with any online version of TurboTax. You can only file the current tax filing year, which as of this post is tax year 2022. For prior year tax returns you have to purchase and install the CD version for Windows or MAC, and they can only be installed on a Windows or MAC computer. So when/if you purchase the CD version make sure you get the correct one for your operating system.

Note also that the TurboTax program is only supported for the current tax filing year (2022 at this time) and three years back. So if you need to file a return for 2018 or earlier, you can't use Turbotax.
