This year my W-2 has codes in box 12 of D L W DD

Last year my W-2 from Baystar had codes of C D W DD

In my previous employer I always had codes C D DD (I checked back several years)

My question concerns Code C (Taxable cost of group-term life insurance over $50,000) which was on my W-2 last year and prior years and which I believe I still contribute to. Does that need to be on my W-2 this year ? I do know my employer did pay taxes on the imputed income.

I understand the Code W since I did not have an HSA at my previous employer and have had it at Baystar the last two years. I expected and have always had both D (for the 401 K) and DD (for health coverage)

Not sure what the purpose of L code this year is since it is "Non-taxable employee business expense reimbursement" but it does not seem to affect my taxes when I put it in - so no big deal

Double check with your employer if you are not sure what those amounts represent. Code C amounts would be included in your taxable income, box 1 figure. Code L amounts are non-taxable to you and not included in Box 1 of your W-2.
