Your license code is a 16-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that verifies the software and allows you to finish installing and begin using TurboTax.

If you obtained the TurboTax CD from an authorized retailer, your license code is printed on the front of the insert in your box.

Yes, so what is the turbotax link that allows me to start that process? When I login to my account there are no options except to start the purchase process.

I bought the CD from Costco. I used the download method instead. It has more advantages over CD. Then you can also download it another computer. Once you install the CD you can't install it again like if you need to reinstall the program or install on a different computer.

There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

@carabbracamonte Did you buy the package in the store? After you paid for it did you go to the customer service window to exchange it for the full package with the CD in it? Some people walk out without realizing they need the real package.

I bought it at Costco too. Here's what I got. It has the License Code on it
