Missing 2021 return, IRS says they don't have it and Turbo Tax should. It didn't come with 2022 return. Can't get a human from Turbo Tax to help me. What else can I do?

I tried filing a request to TPG but never get a response. TPG is what Turbo Tax referred me to months ago when I could talk to an actual person.

I would first verify that your 2021 tax return was submitted by checking to see if your e-file return was accepted: E-File Status. If the "Transmit my returns now" button was not completed, then the return would not have been processed.

If you find your federal return has been accepted, you would need to work with the IRS, as TurboTax receives no further updates once the return has been accepted.

You can verify your refund status here: Where's My Refund, to check your status. You will need Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund.

The return was accepted and I have already contacted the IRS they gave me a letter stating they do not have my money, told me to come back to Turbo Tax. I did and Turbo Tax said to contact TPG, which I did, but never got a response. Which is why I'm coming back here.

Turbo Tax is not a bank. Therefore the IRS does not send money to us. If you choose to have your Turbo Tax Fees deducted from your refund. the IRS will send it to SBTPG.

Since this is a prior year return, you will have to contact the IRS and SBTPG to inquire.
