For my Missouri State taxes, I opted to pay it directly from my bank account. I was sent "2022 Individual Income Tax Payment Voucher" to send with a check and I don't know why. Do I have to send this voucher with a check, or will it take the state tax payment out of my bank? If I do have to send in the voucher, does that mean I will be charged twice?

You verify if you chose direct debit for your state return by downloading/printing a copy of your tax return. Once you've done that, you can find the information on your State Information Worksheet.

I have downloaded and printed a copy of my tax return. Where can I find the State Information Worksheet? I have searched Turbotax and my tax statement and cannot find anything with that title.

Do you see a “Missouri Information Worksheet”? If so, it should show your direct-debit election (or lack of) about 2/3 of the way down the page, in Part VIII.

Also note that you must select “Forms to review or keep for your records” (on the way to printing the return), and then either “Tax Return, all calculation worksheets,” or “Specific Forms” followed by “Information Worksheet.” (Since this form isn’t included in “All official forms required for filing.”)

Thank you for the clarification. I do not see a Missouri Information worksheet. Is it somewhere on my 2022 taxes? If so, I cannot find it. When I go to download and print my return, there is no option to select any kind of documents beforehand. It just downloads the taxes right into my files for me to print, so I do not know how to access those documents.

If you look on your Missouri form MO-1040 on line 52, you will see your bank routing number and account number. If those are listed there, then you are set up for a bank debit and you won't need to send in a payment with a voucher.
