topic 1099-NEC in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I received a 1099-NEC from a company, I was not employee but they gave me a job to do 1 time. I had a full time job with a different company at the time. Now I need to file this. I do not have my own business and never did. Does that make me an Independent Contractor? I have to report this on my taxes, but I don't know how. Can someone help me with this.

The IRS considers you to be an independent contractor since you did not have tax, Social Security or Medicare withheld from your pay, so you have to pay self-employment tax now. You need to use the online Self-Employed software or any version of the CD/download for that. All of your income goes on the same tax return including your W-2 income.

I have purchased turbo tax deluxe. I do not have a business, it was a 1 time thing. Can't I put it somewhere for personal income? I can't fill in business address or anything, because I am not a business.

You use your own address. Sorry. This is confusing to many people the first time they have to enter self-employment income. You have to prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses. You can only do that in onlne Self-Employed or by using any version of the CD/download, which has all of the forms and schedules.
