Why did TT's download feature download only part of my bank's 1099-INT info even though the bank's 1099-INT form was complete and accurate when I accessed it directly?

This would have resulted in my under-reporting income. Customer service suggested I should have entered the data manually and not trusted their software.

to help what lines on the 1099-int weren't imported? and did you import from the actual website or from a PDF which can always cause issues?

The correct answer is that you should download but you should check that the download worked properly and that all the fields downloaded correct data. When computers transmit data, it is in long strings of letters and numbers. A microsecond pause in a network can cause those numbers to be corrupted and not import correctly. Most of the time, there is no problem. You are the one time in a million billion that the numbers did not transmit correctly. So import for convenience but double check the results for accuracy.

Does the 1099-INT cover multiple accounts on one form, and if so, is there a text page of instructions in the middle of it? As an example, I know some users in past years have had trouble with Ally Bank when they had multiple accounts on one Form 1099-INT. From what they have reported in the past, it sounds like Ally has a text page of instructions/information interposed on the second page, and then their form continues with additional accounts, and a total combined summary at the end. So it sounds like TurboTax imports the first page OK, then balks when it gets to that page of instructions and doesn't know what to do after that and doesn't make it to the combined info summary. There may be other institutions where it encounters a similar problem.

I just noticed you have a second thread where you mentioned Marcus Bank. I've seen a report by another Marcus accountholder who had a similar problem that he feels is due to the interposed text page. Here is his post:
