topic I had two employers in 2022. First employer held the maximum $9114 in Social Security Tax. Second held extra $1785. Turbo Tax entered $110 on Schedule 3. Is this error? in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I would think either the entire $1785 should be refunded, or at worst $1785 less my marginal tax rate and Medicare tax.

You only get back from W2 box 4. I would delete the W2s and re enter them. That usually clears something out. Yes you should get back the full $1785 if that is the amount in box 4. If you are married make sure each W2 is assigned to the right spouse.

For 2022 it will be on Schedule 3 line 11 which goes to 1040 line 31. The Social Security overpayment on line 31 is included in the total refund on line 35a.
