Can you clarify your question a bit? I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say long form to short form.

There has not been a "short form" 1040EZ or 1040A since tax year 2017. Now everyone uses a Form 1040. So we do not know what you are trying to do.

If you do not want to itemize deductions you do not have to; you can skip that part and just use your standard deduction.

If you are referring to the Form 1040EZ (short form), that form was removed by the IRS after tax year 2017.

There is now only one federal tax return Form 1040.
