      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 0%);font-size:14px;"&gt;You need to check your new state's rules on carryovers, but in most states, the loss would be allowed in both states, just as a gain would be taxed by both states. &amp;nbsp;However, the rules for double-taxed income would likely reduce the double benefit. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 0%);font-size:14px;"&gt;For taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2002, if you have capital loss carryovers and were a nonresident of California in prior years, the capital loss carryovers need to be restated as if you had been a California resident for all prior years.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
