      <description>&lt;P&gt;No, you are not responsible for your GF's debts if you claim her as a dependent.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;But...are you even sure you can claim her?&amp;nbsp; Did she live with you the WHOLE year in 2022?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Did she have less than $4400 of income?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;IF you can claim her, all you "get" is the $500 credit for other dependents.&amp;nbsp; It is not added to your refund, but it can reduce your tax owed.&lt;/P&gt;
