    <description>When i do it this way, it automatically says shes a dependent but everyone and everything says you cannot claim your spouse as a dependent. So im confused.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;married filing jointly is usually best especially when one spouse has no income. a spouse is never a dependent&lt;/P&gt;</description>
