Can I use same Turbo Tax software to do tax return for my son?

I purchased a turbo tax cd/download window software and installed on my laptop. Can i use this software to do federal and state (different state from us) tax return for my son as well?

Yes you can prepare an unlimited number of returns using the CD/Download software installed on your computer. The IRS only allows you to efile 5 returns. You can print and mail the others if you have more than 5. You will have to buy an additional state return software to prepare a return for another state. All state returns have an additional charge for efiling or you can print and mail the state returns for no additional charge.

I was using Deluxe version last year. I got one free Federal Return e-filing , then paid for State Return e-filing. How much cost for Federal e-filing if I file another for my son? Thanks.

As stated above you get 5 federal efiles for free. Then each state is $20 to efile or you can print & mail state for free. To start a new return go up to FILE - NEW TAX RETURN.

Federal efiling is free for the up to 5 federal returns that can be efiled. There is no additional charge for efiling any of the federal returns.
