It can be a few factors as to why the software is asking you to upgrade. For more information, please see this Help Article.

While I could argue this didn't necessarily solve the problem.

I can not fault you with what little information I gave you and the fact that you are doing this for "free". I'll just bite the bullet and pay for premier.

I just think it's funny that in the checkout, I'm paying for Premier now, which has 2022 federal filing under it, when I already filed my federal taxes. Now I have to pay additionally for state taxes, meaning I don't even get the benefits of Premier.

I'll be sure to weigh my options for next year and nice to see Turbotax just threw away years of loyalty.
