Was anyone else charged 79.99 instead of 39.99?

i got the turbotax premier desktop edition, which i knew i had to pay $24.99 for efiling California state tax. but next screen i see i need to pay $44.99 for turbotax premium service? WTF! I already paid $50 for this and now i have to pay more? makes no sense other than Turbotax trying to pull a quick one and something shady is going on. sound like maybe the issue you are having is similar to mine.. maybe time to report it to BBB if they don't explain it to users.

but today when i was about to file, i see the $24.99 charge and click continue.. and next screen i see was i'm going be charged $44.99? WTF!

Did anyone else figure out why they want an additional $44.99 for filing their Premier taxes. I already paid for the disk at Best Buy & I don't want the audit protection, so I'm not sure what the additional $44.99 is for.

Review your fees to find out for what you are being charged.

Down the left side of TurboTax, click on Tax Tools.
Click on Tools.
Click on My Fees in the center of the screen.

Now you can see what you have been charged.

To remove all fees and start over, you can click Tax Tools, then Clear and start over at the bottom left of the screen.
