&lt;P&gt;Yes, in theory, you can deduct sales tax paid. &lt;A href="https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/tax-deductions-and-credits/how-to-write-off-sales-taxes/L5yt8TIJ2" target="_self"&gt;Here is an article&lt;/A&gt; from TurboTax that explains how to do it.&amp;nbsp; Here, also, is the&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/use-the-sales-tax-deduction-calculator" target="_self"&gt; IRS Sales Tax Deduction calculator&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I say "in theory" because the sales tax deduction is taken instead of the state income tax deduction (discussed in the TurboTax article). Also, generally, you would need enough deductions that your itemized deductions were greater than your standard deduction.&amp;nbsp; You don't provide your filing status in the question, but&lt;A href="https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/tax-deductions-and-credits/what-are-standard-tax-deductions/L7oiVM1DH" target="_self"&gt; here is a link&lt;/A&gt; to the amounts of the standard deduction by filing status for 2022.&lt;/P&gt;
