TurboTax accounts cannot be combined. Choose one and stick with it going forward. Keep a record of the account and user ID of the old one so you can get into it if you need to.

If you are just trying to transfer 2021 into a new 2022 return, you need to stay within the exact same account and user ID that you used to prepare 2021. Do not start a new account.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

@sheldon-erb-grey If you say why you need it in a different account we might have some other options for you. Where is your 2021 return? Did you use the Online version or the Desktop program?

For 2021's returns I mistakenly used my username through my work email address. Prior to 2021 all of my TT returns were under a personal email address. I was using the online version for all returns, no desktop version. I attempted to upload last year (*.tax2021) but it would not upload. If I'm not able to upload this past year into my 2022 I'll just start it over and refer back to the PDF version I have. Thanks
