California Middle Class tax refund how to put it on the return

I received a 1099 misc from the state of California for the middle class tax refund. How do I answer the questions on Turbo Tax so that it goes on the other income line and not on a schedule C. It is not self employment income correct?

Follow Form 1099-MISC interview and you will be asked if this income was from work or an intent to earn money and answer NO.

To enter a Form 1099-MISC -

Click on Federal Taxes
Click on Wages and Income
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to 1099-MISC and Other Common Income
On Income from Form 1099-MISC, click the start or update button

Or enter 1099-misc in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to 1099-misc

The return rejected. Then I was told there would be a fix for the program, because of the problem with the acceptance of the California Middle Class tax refund. I did what it said to do and it is still rejecting. What do I do now? Thanks Sharon

We are aware of this experience. The issue is being resolved in an update that is scheduled to be released by this week. Please Login to your return early next week

and if the issue persists post back here to let us know. Please follow the steps below to review and resubmit your return:

TurboTax online:

1. Log into your account.

2. Select check my return.

3. Select Federal from the left menu.

4. Select Federal Review.

5. Answer the question regarding CA Middle Class Tax Refund.

6. File your return.

In TurboTax CD/ Download

1. Open TurboTax

2. Select Open your return

3. Select Federal Taxes from the top navigation menu.

4. Select Federal Review.

5. Answer the question regarding CA Middle Class Tax Refund.

6. File your return.
