Do you know anyone with a computer that has a CD Drive? You can try copying the CD to a USB flash drive and use that to install the program.

Why do you need to install the 2020 program? Do you have your tax return file ending in .tax2020? Do you need to do 2020 or amend one?

Thx for the quick response. I have an old PC with a CD so I'll try copying the CD, I assumed the CD setup was keyed to the CD itself. (I don't simply install and file from the old PC because I prefer to have the files on my laptop for efiling, sincemy old PC is not that secure and may have been compromised.)
I need to create a new tax return for my daughter (yes she's late again!), so don't have an old file to amend.

If you used the CD to install the program the first time you need to use the installation file from that CD again. In the future skip the CD and only use the downloaded installation process to make life easier. Otherwise you can contact TT support to get a download pushed to your account now.

I was able to copy the CD files to a flash drive and install onto my laptop.
Good to know about just downloading rather than using the CD - I will do that for 2022 returns.

Good luck on installing 2020. Do you still have the 14 digit License Code? If not or it doesn't work you can call in and ask for another code. Keep us posted.

Yes for 2022, if you buy the CD use the download method instead. It has more advantages over CD. Then you can also download it another computer or if you need to reinstall it. Or just buy the Download from Turbo Tax or Costco etc.

There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.
