2021 taxes (federal and most states) can no longer be e-file. The forms must be printed and mailed. A few states may still allow e-filing of the state return at their web sites.

@corky0632 you actually have 3 years from the original filing deadline to claim any refund due you, so you really have until April 17, 2025 to file a 2021 tax return. However, if you owe, you always owe, you are never obsilved of the debt.

be sure to print, sign and include all documents that support the tax withholdings with the tax return. Expect it to take 6-9 months to receive any refund - the IRS is still backlogged. Nothing will appear on the IRS website until they begin scanning and processing the return. Mail it with a tracking method so you can confirm receipt.
