I doordashed a little thru the year but I don't think it was enough to file with my 2 kids

Yes you have to file and can claim your dependents. If you have self employment income and your income is more than your expenses you have to pay self employment tax on the net profit.

If you made $400 or more from DoorDash you are required to file a tax return.
