The tax return I started is not showing up in turbo tax online. When I log in it start over from the beginning.

When I logged in to continue, turbo tax sold me the lousy desktop version, which I bought and downloaded, started entering data but came back later and it's gone. Everything is gone- online data and desktop version. I want a refund on the lousy outdated desktop version.

If you downloaded the CD/download software, you open up the program on your own computer from your own hard drive. You do not "log in" to online software.

How do I open my tax return in the TurboTax software I installed?

After launching the TurboTax program, you can either:

Click Continue under the return you want to open, or
Select Open Tax Return from the File menu (Windows) or TurboTax menu (Mac), browse to the location of your .tax or tax data file (not the PDF), select it, and then select Open.

Please note that you'll need to use the same tax-year TurboTax program to open your tax file. For example, use TurboTax 2022 to open your 2022 return, not your 2021 or 2020 return.
