I am a sole proprietor receiving some payments through Paypal. A few companies sending me payment through Paypal also send me a 1099. I don't want to be double-taxed. How can I offset those payments to ensure not to pay double tax on the same payments?

I have contacted the companies, and they said even though Paypal is sending me a 1099 for their payments they are obligated by law to send me one, and there isn't anything they can do about it.

Seems like the law change was not well thought out. Should be one or the other sending a 1099, not both.

You can offset the other amounts from the multiple 1099-Ks as Other Miscellaneous Expenses in the Business section of the program.
