Turbo Tax is a DIY income tax program that you use to complete and file a federal/state income tax returns.

It is not a bookkeeping program nor can you pay business taxes (like payroll) thru it.

I had in the past an accountant/bookkeeper file my taxes but according to the IRA calculator I was supposed to receive a good few thousand dollars back but when I actually received it ,it was not even 2k!

I don`t have dependents but the IRA calculator had calculated that too.

Does this system take such big percentages off like that person?

You mean the IRS? If the IRS adjusted your refund they will mail you a letter. And Federal (IRS) and state refunds come from different places at different times. Do you have copies of your IRS 1040 tax returns and state? Sorry we can't help you without a lot more information.

@proreflexology10 there's an acronym for this. GIGO - Garbage In Garbage Out which means the correct results depend on correctly and completely entering all relevant data. People omit things like the economic impact payments or the advanced childcare credit they already got. then their return shows a big refund which the IRS computers change to reflect what actually took place based on its records. other taxpayers' omissions because they want to file ASAP before they have all their tax documents include omitting W-2s and 1099s.

In fact, I don`t have any dependents and I gave all the w-2`S ,1099`s and all the things my accountant/bookkeeper requested so in this situation this was not the case.
