If I moved in February will my W2 next year go to my new address?

I am from Michigan and moved to Texas in February. I have worked 2 jobs here in Texas so far and obviously, my address I have those two jobs are my current Texas address. I also changed my address to my current one via post office before I moved. I will get my w2s to my current address still, correct? I'm scared because this is my first time moving and wanted to make sure there wasn't another step I have to do.

Your W-2 is mailed by the employer. You should notify your former employer in Michigan that you have moved, and ask them to mail your W-2 to your new address. Do it right away, because they will be sending the W-2s soon.

If they mail your W-2 to your old address, the post office should forward it since you filed a change of address with the post office. If you don't get the W-2 by the first week of February, contact the Michigan employer and ask for a duplicate copy.

When you prepare your tax return you will use your current TX address on the Form 1040. Even though your W-2's from working might have MI addresses on them, make sure you use the most recent address on your tax return so that the IRS knows where to send mail to you now.

Yeah, last I saw, the PO change of address was supposedly effective for just one year

....so you might be right at the limit. (unless they changed their limits...can't find it now)

Even so, you don't want the current residents of your former address to get yoru W-2 by accident......get hold of your former employer asap and get your address changed with them now to avoid potential complications.
