A check from the US Treasury is not supposed to bounce at least until Dec 16th.

Check to see how you chose to receive your refund. If you chose to have a check mailed to you, then it will be a check from the United States Treasury, not a cashier check. Watch your mail and make sure you open every envelope even if it looks like junk mail.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
