Hi Mia,

You can amend your return to claim your son. A few thing to look out for when entering the information about your son.

When it asks you how long he lived with you make sure you chose whole year, also when you enter the social security number make sure you don't check the box that say SSN is invalid for work.

You will see your son listed as a dependent and be able to qualify for the child tax credit and may also qualify for an additional $1,400 stimulus on the return.

You can always give us a call and we can walk you through amending the return

I had my son in September of 2021 I filed my taxes for the first time and tried to claim him I know no one else did but for some reason i wasn't able to claim my son. Can I still fix it and what do I do from here? I've never had an issue filing my taxes before claiming my son and I didn't receive the child tax credit because of that problem. I just really need help!
