&lt;P&gt;The way the W-4 is formatted is difficult to adjust. The ways to do this is to:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;add a dependent/a qualifying child, if you have one and that should decrease the amount withheld (Step 3), or&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;you are eligible for deductions other than the basic standard deduction, such as itemized deductions, the deduction for IRA contributions, or the deduction for student loan interest (Step 4(b)).&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I don’t know how to adjust my W4 now as it defaults to 1 for my single status. &amp;nbsp;I use to be able to adjust my withholding to get more back during the year instead of the end of year in my refund.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please advise. &amp;nbsp;Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
