Your estimated tax payments will serve as a credit against your Federal tax liability and have to be entered on your tax return.

In TurboTax Online, you can enter estimated taxes you paid by following these steps:

Open your tax return

Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then Deductions & Credits

Navigate to the list of Deductions and Credits

Locate the section named Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click on the arrow on the right

Click on Start next to Estimated Tax Payments

On the next page, click Start next to Federal estimated taxes for 2025 (form 1040ES)

The AGI on line 11 of the Form 1040SR asks for AGI and we filed Married Filing Jointly so why would they reject our e-filing because they are asking for my wife's AGI. I'm very confused.

A 1095-C is for your records only. It should not be entered into TurboTax.

You probably tried to post a 1095-A.

If you're sure you don't have a 1095-A you can use these steps to clear it.

Select Tax Tools

On the drop-down select Tools

There will be 2 green boxes

Select Topics Search

Type 1095-A

The question will come up Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?

Answer Yes

Continue to the form

Delete it using the trash can

Repeat the process

When you get to Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?

Answer No

Re: want to file a 2025 tax extension

You may wish to file for an extension.  This will extend the time you have to file your taxes until October 15th, 2026.

On the left rail menu in TurboTax Online Select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)

On the drop-down select Tools

On the Pop-Up menu titled “Tools Center,” select File an extension

Follow the instructions to start the extension process

You may be asked to file the return!

Continue through this.

The extension will be filled, and your return will not.

Also, you may have to file your state taxes:

Do I need to file an extension for my personal state taxes?

Remember, an extension gives you more time to prepare your taxes, but it doesn't extend the time to pay your taxes.  If you know you will have to pay taxes, you should pay them by the original due date of the tax return. This will avoid extra interest and penalties.

The PDF downloaded at the Tax Home is very basic. There is more info in the larger PDFs. Here's how to get larger PDFs with all the worksheets, Electronic Filing Instructions, etc. by going to the Print Center inside the return interview.

NOTE: When you open your return back up, do not make any changes in it since it's already been filed. If you later have to amend the return, it has to start off exactly as it was when it was originally filed.

Log in and at the Tax Home down in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" for 2025, look for a link "Add a State."

Click on "Add a State." (you don't really add one. That's just to open your return back up.)

After the return interview is open, you should have a full left column menu again. Click in the left menu column on the tab TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.

Then choose "Print, save, view this year's return."

The next screen should ask what you want in your PDF: Federal. state, or both (I always save both--just in case) and offer some options: "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)"

The latter has the most pages.

NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.

I inserted my checking account info and ask that it be directly taken from my account. TT asked what day I wanted this to happen on and I selected yesterday, the date of filing.
