Your age has nothing to do with whether Social Security is taxable or not.  If you have no other income then your Social Security would not be taxable.  But if you have other income there is the potential that some part of your Social Security would be included in your taxable income.  Here's the details: https://www.ssa.gov/planners/taxes.html

Yes it might be taxable depending on your other income (including your wife's income).  Age doesn't matter.

Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:
Married Filing Jointly: $32,000
Single or head of household: $25,000
Married Filing Separately: 0

If you both ONLY get SS or SSDI it is not taxable and you don't have to file a return.

If you are UNDER full SS age then if you work they might actually reduce your monthly benefit checks the next year.
