Withdrew $8,880 from Ira after 59 1/2 had Edward jones hold $888 for tax and received the net of 8,000 do I show 8,888 as gross or 8,000
You show $8,880 and claim the $888 as withholding (similar to what you would do with a Form W-2,) You should be able to enter the Form 1099-R this way.

You show $8,880 and claim the $888 as withholding (similar to what you would do with a Form W-2,) You should be able to enter the Form 1099-R this way.

So the tax is being calculated on the 8888 instead of just the 8000 correct?
