Wait until your original return is COMPLETED before filing an amended return. Also, an amended return can only be mailed in. TT is where you can make the amendment, the. Print out the amended return. Goto IRS.GOV and search amended returns. The address that it needs to be sent to differs upon your state of residence. Hope that's help.

If your return rejects for something you can fix it and resend it.

If it is Accepted you will have to mail in an Amended return.  How to amend a 2016 Online return
