I made an early withdrawal from IRA does TurboTax note the withholding amount noted on the 1099-R?

It only seems to note the penalty

Yes, the federal withholding amount from Box 4 of your Form 1099-R should be included on Line 16 of your Form 1040.  It will be added to any other federal withholding you have from W2s, etc.

You can preview your Form 1040 to ensure that it is included:

  • Login to your TurboTax Account
  • Click "Take Me To My Return"
  • Click "Tax Tools" then "Tools" from the left side of your screen
  • Click the "View Tax Summary" box
  • Click "Preview my 1040" from the left side of your screen
  • Scroll down until you get to Form 1040, Lines 16-17
  • Your withholding from your 1099-R should be included here

If it doesn't show up on that line or you have additional questions, please comment below so that I can assist you further.
