If my husband passed in 2017 he was retired the time he passed and I receive a monthly pension from him and we had no kids do I have to file that monthly pension amount

Yes, the 1099R is income that needs to be reported on your tax return.
You will get credit for the taxes paid out of the pension when the 1099R is entered.
To enter pension and annuity Payments (1099-R)
• Click on Federal Taxes
• Click on Wages and Income
• Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
• Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
• On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button
