Is the US Military Retirement Pay considered a "Non-Qualified" Plan? If so, where is this information normally found?
My form 1099-R does not have a check box for this information.

Is the US Military Retirement Pay considered a "Non-Qualified" Plan? If so, where is this information normally found?
Yes, Military retirement is considered a non-qualified plan. The term "qualified retirement plan" applies to plans covered by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, or ERISA.
Generally, your retirement plan information will state if a plan is Qualified or Non-Qualified. The plan administrator can also provide the information
