Why won't Turbotax take my newly assigned Social Security number which has alpha characters in it?

Your Social Security number does not have alpha characters.  You use the number that is on your current Social Security card, NOT your Medicare card.  Your new Medicare card no longer shows your Social Security number but the Medicare account number and that number is not used on a tax return.
