To indicate in TurboTax that your HSA distributions were for qualified medical expenses, follow these steps:
If you received a Lump Sum payment for Social Security that includes payment for prior years, it still counts as income in the year that you receive it.
There is a special calculation that SOMETIMES lowers that tax (it taxes the previous year's payments at your previous year's tax rates), but that tax and income still show up on your current year tax return. The program should walk you through that if it applies.
