What state is it? Your state might not give you a contribution or you may need to enter this into your state return in a deduction or credit summary section. Check your return to see if you have this capability.

Why isn’t my state return not reflecting the $6000 credit to my taxable amount in block 18a for an qualified employer sponsored pension plan?

Since I had checked the special 65 or over deduction box, I wasn’t allowed to claim the 6000 credit to my adjusted income because you can’t claim both.  I went back and unchecked the special 65 or over box so I could claim the 6000 and it made a difference in my refund of $300.  Thanks for responding.
