Why is the total distribution from my 1099R showing up as taxable income when it's not taxable?

I've filled out the form information correctly. It shows 0 in the taxable amount box

Why is the total distribution from my 1099R showing up as taxable income when it's not taxable?

Was this from an IRA or a pension/annuity?

Did you see a series of questions asking about your prior year distributions and whether the box 2a amount was used as the taxable amount? What did you answer?

Did you see any questions on "basis" or after-tax contributions? What did you answer?

You might have to look at your actual form 1040 to see how it's treated.   4a & 4b (for IRAs)  or 5a & 5b (for other pension distributions)

Some of the entry pages will just show the total $$ you entered in any way or other....and it doesn't indicate it was actually added as taxable income.
